Jewellery Making Workshops

Riverside beads aims to bring you fun and informative bead classes at a great price, all ages and abilities welcome, prices include all the beads and findings you need so there are no hidden costs!! 

All our jewellery making classes our held in our workshop area in the Craft Centre.  Booking & pre-payment is essential for all courses, and we require at least 7 days notice for all cancellations, deposits are non refundable, contact us to book your place. We are pleased to work with local artists and tutors to bring you a fantastic range of craft courses. We look forward to seeing you on a beading course soon.

Wednesday's from the 24th April are demo days, join us for advice and inspiration for all your beading and papercraft queries.

In our popular introduction to jewellery making course we teach you all the techniques for making & fastening necklaces, bracelets, earrings, bag charms & phone charms. You will use cord, tiger tail, assorted findings and beads to create some fantastic jewellery pieces and all the knowledge you need to make your own jewellery! You will make 6 piece's of jewellery on the day.  Cost of the class includes all your beads, findings & refreshments just bring lunch - Only £20

Work with wire to make bead cages, jump rings, create a wire work button ring, wire bead wrapping, wire work shapes, working with memory wire and more. Lots of tips and techniques with wire! This is a great follow on course to our starter jewellery making class. Only £20 including all materials.

Develop your kumihimo braids by adding beads to create stunning effects, we will show you different ways to add your beads using different string materials and beads, featuring the new magatamas & seed beads too.

Learn how Kumihimo braids are developed, create a braided and a beaded Kumihimo bracelet.

Make a pendant from silver art clay, we will be covering the basics of modelling the clay, drying, firing options and how to clean and polish. The modelling will look at cutting, shaping, using templates and moulds.

Following the course you should be able to work indepenantly to make your own silver art clay pieces at home, know how to store, recycle and avoid waste with your clay, know the correct tools to use and how to correctly fire your clay.

The course will include use of tools and equipment and 7 gram silver art clay is included, the course is suitable for beginners or improvers.

Our guest Bead weaving Artist will teach you this stunning beaded flower using a variety of peyote stitches to bead a rivoli and design the flower, working with size 15s this class is suitable for anyone with some previous beginners bead weaving experience, this is a longer course as lots of techniques will be taught in the day and the piece will take longer than some to make!!  places are limited for this unique class and a full non refundable payment is required on booking

Roses & Swirls buttercream cupcake class

We are very excited to welcome Mel from Making Cakes & Bakes Magazine, to teach a cup cake class for us. Learn to make rose and buttercream swirls, plus decorations. The new magazine will be on sale on the day.

Learn to assemble, paste and varnish with our decopatch workshop you will create a box, set of beads and a bangle on the day and learn to create stunning results with your decopatch.  As with all our classes all materials and refreshments are provided

Beading Babes  -  Open morning 10-1 Free  - A free beading group, come and meet like minded beaders for a chat and bead, just bring your beading projects, borrow our tools & accessories if you wish and speak with our friendly experienced beading staff for tips and advice.
