Hello Beautiful Beaders!
So it's a brand new year and whilst it may be rainy outside there's plenty of sunshine inside the Riverside ranch. The team is on full beam as we prepare the festivities for our mail order manager (and my Mum!) Gaynor's 60th birthday celebrations. She's one amazing lady and we can't wait to raise a glass to toast the big 6-0 with her!
What's better than sunshine is the angelic glow of our latest and greatest Sparkle Angel kit, produced in conjunction with Sue Ryder, and which is being launched live on Create and Craft TV on Wednesday the 1st of February at 9am. £1 from every kit sold will be donated to the well deserved charity and I can tell you now you won't want to miss out on this unique and very special set.
The kit includes three limited edition Sue Ryder lucite beaded angels, an assortment of beads and enough of our popular sparkle spacers to make two beautiful bracelets and a matching necklace. Very, very exciting!!
Each of our beaded Angels are made with love and are normally named after our gorgeous team of girls in Riverside HQ, like our new scarlet pearly bum angel called Rae. What makes this set extra special though is that, in honour of the charities royal patronage, we have decided to name the two angels Lilibet and Alexandra, after her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. They will be hand crafted with the most exquisite lucite beads, most fitting for angels of such distinction!
So you see you simply must tune into Create and Craft and programme your telly box to record the show and bead along with me once your kit has arrived.
I'll be showing you some amazing techniques on the show some of which you'll also be able to see in my next blog. From the 30th of January my last post of the month plans to be jam packed with beading and jewellery making tips, tricks and techniques. So join me next time when I'm going to show you just some of the techniques needed to make the Sue Ryder Sparkle Angel kit.
Speaking of our charity of choice please don't miss the next Dabble Day in March, where you can try your hand at a wide range of amazing techniques.
Riverside beads and Crafts, www.riversidecrafts.co.uk sponsor the day, with all funds raised going to Sue Ryder. The last one in October was an enormous success which raised over £450, and this time we want to smash that target, but we need your help to do It! Come along and join the fun on March the 5th at the Market Deeping Community Centre, from 10am - 3pm. For prices check out our workshop listings here:-http://riversidebeads.t83.net/

Before I go there's just time to tell you about some of the workshops coming up at Riverside HQ:-
We've got a Beaded Bead Necklace class on Wednesday the 25th of January, where the talented Heidi will be holding an alternative beadweave class using crescents & seed beads in new Spring colours. It's on from 10am - 1pm and costs £17.50.
Then there's our Beginners Right Angle Weave class on a Friday the 27th January. In this three hour class Rae will introduce you to right angle weaving and show you how to create this beautiful beaded bracelet. 10am - 1pm, £15.00.
I know when I started beading at the age of 7 there weren't a lot of classes available for this type of thing, in fact I even used to make my own beads out of Fimo because I couldn't find a shop to buy any. I still have the first ever necklace that I made which I continue to wear from time to time. It's a great reminder for me to keep providing as many wonderful classes as I possibly can, which I hope you all enjoy. I'd love to hear your feedback about the classes and any requests that you may have for them in the future. Just leave me a comment on this blog using the link below. 🙂
On that note I've got to fly, there's boys to be collected from school, dinners to be cooked and scripts to be prepared for my new You Tube channel.....coming soon.....🎬
