Hello Beautiful Beaders,
Well the leaves are starting to fall and there's been the first sign of a chill in the air, but the sun is still shining bright in a last ditch hurrah for all the September sandal wearers out there.
Some dislike the end of the summer but I for one enjoy the seasonal change and the mixed bag of weather that it brings. English seasons are so inspirational to my work. They influence me in a way that only nature can, with Autumn bringing a host of golden colour palettes and delicious home baked ideas.
It's also the dawn of the build up to Halloween which is always SO much fun from a creative point of view. Halloween began as a celebration observed in a number of countries on 31 October. This day is the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day and Reformation Day and it marks the start of the three-day observance of All Hallow Tide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints, martyrs, and all the faithful departed.
In honour of this spooktacular occasion I'm running a little Halloween competition. To be in with a chance to win a super duper Halloween themed beading prize simply send in a photo of your spookiest/cutest/most amazing Halloween inspired craft or Beading project. You can post it to our Facebook page or email us an image to firstname.lastname@example.org
Can't wait to see what you all come up with!!
While you get your spooky juices ruminating you might want to pop down to the shop on Friday the 29th of September, when we are holding one of our marvellous McMillan coffee mornings, in aid of the well deserved charity. Do come down and join us for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake (or two). We would love to see you and it's all in aid of a very good cause!
If you can't make it then you can still catch up with me on Create and Craft on Tuesday the 3rd of October. I'll be live on your telly boxes with some wonderous goodies for you, so be sure to tune in or set your tv to record the show.
Last but by no means least I'm calling out for all you creatives! Are you part of a group of Beading or Crafting collectives? Do you have a new skill or craft you'd like to share with our customers? We're looking for new voices, new crafts and new faces to come along to the Riverside Makery. If you'd like to share your talent with a wider audience, and have a new or revived skill to freecycle out to our beautiful Beading and Crafting community then please get in touch now!
That's all from me for now. For more updates and news be sure to subscribe to this blog and also our newsletter and don't forget to like our Facebook page as well.
Happy Halloween Beading everyone!
