Hello Beautiful Beaders,
As most of you know I simply adore the colour Teal and it really rocks my world from clothes to office decor, right down to my stunning Riverside Beads branding. Colour is vital to me and my life and therefore I do try to keep my finger on the pulse of what's hot on the colour wheel each year.
Pantone are the colour people in the know, they are the supreme creative beings who decide which colours we will be wearing, dressing our homes and making our jewellery with each season. This year's colour of the year has been Pantone 15-0343 which is called Greenery. I'm sure you've seen it around the shops morphing from oven glove to shift dress. It's a delicious, crunchy and crisp looking colour which, to me, evokes feelings of rejuvenation, serenity and happiness. We've been buying Beads in gorgeous green all year, like these fantastic crystals, only £1.75 per strand. Click here to see them in more detail.
Speaking of trends there are a few to watch out for in jewellery making for Autumn/Winter 2017, including the Military look, which sees gems like hematite beads and silver and pewter chain come into play. Multi-layer chain necklaces feature with small crystal accents and, if you're feeling really adventurous, draped body wraps are intricately created from hundreds and hundreds of chain links.
Cuffs are also huge this season and in the Military style they can be metallic seed bead creations, loom woven or made from leather and embellished with pewter and black crystal accents.
In stark contrast there's also the trend for Bohemia, a far more relaxed style, reminiscent of the 1970's vibe. Seed beads are woven into chevron print designs, necklaces, bracelets and hairbands, using an autumnal pallet of sands, burnt oranges, dusky pinks and burgundy.
This look is perfect for mastering those macrame skills I taught you in my recent blogs and finishing with beautiful dark copper findings.

Finally a little wedding design news for any budding brides out there. This years Autumn/Winter bride is apparently going big on pearls, crystals and, once again, seed beads! Bold, Dynasty style bib-necklaces are the on trend item to be wed in, along with statement collars and sultry back necklaces. Throw in some cocktail rings and you'll be a walking catwalk wedding party, so be sure to check out our range of super sparkly crystals and book onto a hair wine workshop right now!
Now lastly I must tell you what is and will always be on trend in my book, and that's our support for the amazing charity Sue Ryder! We are so proud to be holding our 29th Dabble Day on October the 22nd, where all proceeds will be donated to this deserving cause.
If you haven't already been to a Dabble Day then you simply must come down to Market Deeping Community Centre anytime between 10am and 3pm, where you can try out a multitude of craft and jewellery making techniques. 3 Dabbles for just £6 adults/£4 children or 6 Dabbles for £10 adults/£7 children.
I really hope we will see you there trend setters and, until then, Happy Beading!
